Dear Envision Clients, Family members and Stakeholders,
The recent concerns related to the potential conflict of interest in the multiple roles and functions of community centered boards (CCBs ) have raised a great deal of discussion as to the future of service delivery provided directly through CCBs and the case management responsibilities of the CCB. To date Envision has had no complaints specifically related to the conflict of interest between the case management role and direct service provision. We believe we have taken all appropriate steps to minimize possible conflict and we do not believe Envision acts in a manner that is contrary to client interests.
Envision is acutely aware of the importance of client choice and actively strives to minimize potential areas of conflict of interest. Regulations and guidelines already exist to ensure that CCBs remain responsive to their clients and reduce any possible conflict of interest including:
Envision believes strongly in transparency and ethicacy in all of our dealings with the people receiving services and it is our hope that multiple options will be carefully considered before any costly structural changes are implemented that could negatively impact people receiving services and their families and any changes that would impact Envision's ability to fulfill our mission and pursue our strategic goals.
A task force has been established by the State to evaluate options to resolve conflict of interest issues and to make recommendations to the State. The Task Force has scheduled Tuesday, June 1, 2010 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM to receive public comments regarding options to be considered. Please click on the third link below for more information and instructions on how you can provide input.
Envision is your CCB in Weld County. We are also interested in receiving your comments and would welcome hearing from you. Please contact Mary Lu Walton, Executive Director, to share your information. Thank you for your interest and support.
