Children's Extensive Support
|
This program taps community resources and specialized services to aid children who have the most intensive behavioral and/or medical needs and are at high risk of out-of-home placement. The behavior or medical condition must be considered beyond what is typically age appropriate. In order to qualify, children must have 20- to 24-hours of daily direct care needs as a result of significantly challenging behaviors and/or coexisting medical conditions. These Medicaid-funded services enable parents to keep children at home as part of their family and community.
Occupational, physical and/or speech therapies may be part of the child’s plan. Behavioral therapies are also available to help the child learn different ways to act in daily living and social situations. Specialized devices help children overcome daily barriers related to disabilities. These range from communication and mobility aids and recreational apparatus to medical equipment and supplies. In addition, Envision can modify family homes to make everyday tasks easier. To help families continue to care for their children at home, Envision can provide childcare, housekeeping and other services.
