The strain on families caring for children with developmental disabilities can be tremendous. To help families continue to care for their children at home, Envision’s Family Support Services Program eases the financial, emotional and time burdens placed on caregivers. We can also tap our network of community resources to help people with developmental disabilities enjoy fulfilling lives.

We provide supplemental funds for goods and services that families are required to buy because of disabilities, including wheelchairs, orthotics, special beds, hearing aids and communication aids. Envision may also pay for special purchases for other family members when the items focus on enhancing the community or social activity of the consumer, or on relieving family stress. Family members may be eligible for mileage reimbursement, and shuttle services, if they regularly transport individuals to and from appointments related to disabilities.

All eligible families can access respite drop-off care or, in some cases, Envision can provide funds to help offset the costs of private respite care. On a funds-available basis, we also offer counseling, support groups, home health care, special food and clothing and more.
